Rodney was born on May 22,1953 in Jacksonville, Florida, to Spencer and Frances Friend. The family moved to Seymour, Indiana soon after his birth. Rodney married his high school sweetheart Jodie Speckner Friend in 1972. After being a Bloomington business owner for many years, Rodney pursued his passions for aviation (earning his IFR rating) and photography with enthusiasm and great joy. Rodney believed people were capable of doing hard things and he tried something new and challenging every day, while encouraging his loved ones to do the same. Ever curious and a lifelong learner, Rodney was often found... Seymour Mary Jane (Lambert) Hastings 2024 Mary Jane Hastings, age 90, and a resident of Seymour, Indiana, passed from this life on July 1, 2024, at Schneck Medical Center. Jane was born June 24, 1934, in Muncie Indiana to Clifford and Esther Lambert. She was the thirteenth of fourteen children. She married Gerald Hastings on November 27, 1952, at the Madison Street Methodist Church. Jane was a 1952 graduate of Muncie Central High School and remained a Bearcat for life. She worked for Muncie Credit Bureau before moving to Seymour with her husband in 1964, and soon embarked on the most rewarding job of her life - mother to her two children, Kevin and Julie. Mrs. Holle was a lifelong member of Emanuel Lutheran Church, Dudleytown, where she was baptized, attended school, confirmed her faith, and married her beloved husband Virgil Holle on September 24, 1950.
